Baltimore, MD, A year ago before the election, I joined Newsvine to express my discomfort with the election and how it was going for Barack Obama. I didn't want Barack Obama to become President of the United States for various reasons but not because he is black (I am black). I am not racist either. I just didn't like the way the Mainstream Media (MSM) covered the election and I protested Obama by selecting John McCain. Obama in my opinion was not experience enough for this time and after a year it shows. The people that he placed around him in his cabinet, a few radicals that were also included which have been removed the last couple of months only show the judgment that he has which is severely handicapped.
I was a Democrat before the election process started and I changed to independent after the press had a field day and turned African Americans against the Clinton's using the word "Racist" for a few words that was taken out of context after Hillary Clinton's win in New Hampshire. This was the turning point of the election and I seriously watched the entire Southern states be influenced by Rev Jesse Jackson, Rep James Clyburn and Rev Al Sharpton along with the Black Caucus who backed Clinton so many times during his stint in the White House.
Barack Obama was raised on a pedestal for the entire world to see as a "SAVIOR" and knowing Jesus Christ for myself, I thought that to be so against the church and it's teachings. So many people fawned over him, said that he would "pay their house payments" but more people have lost their homes. The Administration said that it was George Bush's fault but Bush hasn't been president for over a year....and the steps that this administration has taken started in January so everything that you are seeing now is a result of the Obama Administration.
Things haven't turned around. Things have gotten not even worse but MUCH WORSE. More people out of work since he became president and more people getting unemployment benefits due to the economic situation. The House under Pelosi passes a health care package that had to have an federally unfunded amendment for abortion included so that it could pass which should have raised red flags for everyone that it was in there in the first place.
It's a big mistake going on here and honestly it's going to get better. The reason why I say that is because we can't be on the bottom forever...but getting better could take a longer time than what is expected. The administration will claim success for the upturn but I will also add that thing will get worse after it gets better because the congress laid that ground work in passing all of this money that isn't doing anything.
And the next time you hear someone say that Bush passed these funding packages, just remember that Obama voted for them and even back in November, he pushed Bush to sign a democratic led spending package threatening that if he didn't sign it, he would do so in January when he took office. I think that they forgot that.
